The W.M.S. of St. Andrews Unit
ed Church met on Wednesday after
noon for their September’ meeting
in the Sunday School room. The
pres., Mrs. Ernie Chipchase, presid
ed and the meeting opened by
reading 723 in the Hymnary in
unison. Hymn No. 21 was sung and
Mrs. Chipchase led in prayer. The
new study book on India was intro
duced after which Mi*s. Hinton read
a very interesting article on Christ
ian Stewardship. Mrs. Forsyth led
in prayer. The Scripture reading,
Ephesions 2, was read by Mrs.
Chipchase. Mrs. Edgar McBride had
charge of the topic, the first Chap
ter in the new study book “In
Proud of India.” The meeting clos-

Mrs. Chipchase.- Lunch was served
by circle No. 2. Mrs. Robt. Elgie

Mr, A, J. Sweitzer was at Iroquois
Falls during the past week and re
turned with this auto which had
been left at that place for repairs
following a break-down Civic Holi
day week. Mr. Sweitzer was on a
holiday with Mrs. Sweitzer and
family when a part that controls
the steering gear broke. He had dif
ficulty in securing the part and had
to abandon the car and he and the
family returned home by train. Af
ter securing the part he Went north
last Thursday, made the repair and
returned home Saturday.
