Flower Show The Kirkton Horticultural ciety held a Flower Show Aberdeen Hall, Kirkton, Wed nesday evening, May 19. The stage wag beautifully decorated with spring flowers for the oc casion. Many varieties of tulips, narcissi and other spring flow ers were displayed on tables at one side of the halj. other side, craft work schools (Woodham, Plugtown, and Mount added greatly to the display of flowers, ren and their teachers are to be congratulated on the work ac complished. A short musical pro gram was enjoyed by all. Those taking part were Helen Dow, Shirley Dow, Ron Chatten, Ver- la Wheeler, Merle Hazelwood, Grace Collier, Mrs. Fred Switzer and Mrs. Campbell. Mr. W. D. Goodgei* showed coloi’ed slides of perennial borders in different parts of Canada. A description of the flowers in the borders was read by Mrs. Arthur Cole and Dr. Campbell. Mr. Goodger showed colored pictures he took in the Canadian west which were very beautiful. Dr. Camp bell, chairman for the evening, announced that there were some plants -and bulbs for sale. These were soon disposed of. A silver collection was taken which amounted to $21,00. This will be sent to the Ontario Horticul tural Association to be used to send boxes of food to -the Pen sioners of the Gardeners, Royal Benevolent Institution of Bri tain.
