Dashwood Wins
Opener May 24
In the opening Huron-Perth
League baseball game played be
fore a large crowd at Dashwood
Monday afternoon, the home
team downed Zurich 12-5. Carl
Wein, on the mound for Dash
wood, was in fine form, giving
up only three hits and. fanning
fourteen batters. He was also
best at the plate, slamming out
two doubles and. three singles
in five trips. Bill O’Brien and
Carl Heideman tossed for Zur
ich allowing thirteen hits and
striking out thirteen batters.
In the preliminary girls’ soft-
ball game, Dashwood trounced
Lucan 27-7.
