J. Swan, Brucefield, and the late | Mrs. Swan took place Saturday afternoon at the home of the bride’s uncle, Rev. W. J. Watt, of Whitechurch, who officiated» Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore an after noon dress of heaven blue crepe with black accessories and a corsage of pink roses. Her neck lace was a string of pearls, a gift of the bridegroom. The bridesmaid was Miss Mildred MeClenaghan, cousin of the bride, wearing a two-piece dress of pink crepe in street-length stlye. She wore black accesories and a corsage of cream roses. The groomsman was Mr. Wil liam MeClenaghan, brother of the bride. Following the ceremony a re ception was held at the home of the bride’s father. Later Mr. and Mrs. Swan left on a motor trip to Niagara Falls and Cleve land, Ohio. On their return they will reside in Brucefield. Guests were present at the wedding from London, Goderich Brucefield, Hampstead, tyhite- ehurch, Orillia and Toronto. Clarke-Williams A quiet but pretty wedding took place on Saturday, March 27th, in Exeter Main Street Uni ted Church when Rev. H. J. Ma honey united in marriage Aud rey Agnes, daughter of Mr. and Mrs, Charles Williams, Parkhill, to Alvin Russel, son of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Clarke of Dashwood. For her wedding, the bride chose a powder blue dressmaker suit with black accessories. Her only attendant, Miss Margaret Maas, of Parkhill, wore a grey pin striped suit with matching accessories, Roy Clarke, brother of the groom, acted as grooms man, Following the ceremony sup per was served at the home of the groom’s parents to about thirty guests. James Blair, of Ailsa ! Craig, preached his farewell ser mon to a large congregation in the United Church, prioi' to his departure fox’ Milton. The Presbyterian and Baptist con gregations had withdrawn their services and Rev. N. M. Mac Donald read the Scripture les son, after which Rev. William Leaton led in prayer. The ladies of the church de corated it with masses of spring flowers. Mrs. Gordon C. Stewart sang “The Holy City” and the augmented choir sang an Easter anthem. Many expressions of regret were voiced as Mr. and Mrs. Blair said goodbye to members of their Ailsa Craig and Carlisle congregations, 1 to members of •other congregations and people of the community where they have become well-known during almost nine years of service. Mr. and Mrs. Blair and David were showered with gifts since it became known that they were leaving Ailsa Craig. retiring to Mitchell twenty-seven years ago. He was married to Bernice Green in Innerkip, who predeceased him in 19*14. 1-Ie I was a member of Mitchell Unit ed Church and a former mem ber of the board. For eight years he served on the town council and was secretary of the Old Boys’ Reunion commit- {tee in 1923, He also served as secretary-treasurer of the Mit chell agricultural society for many years. Surviving are one son, Glenn Facey of Hamilton; one daughter, Mrs. Norman Heal (Irene) with whom he re sided; one brother, Rev. R. A. Facey, Ingersoll. Henry C. Facey Passes The funeral was held Tues day for Henry C. Facey, resi dent, of Mitchell, who died Sunday, after one day’s serious illness and a week of poor health. Son of the late John Facey and the former Margaret Veale, he was born at Tavistock in 1855. After teaching near Woodstock for some years, he moved to Russeldale, where he conducted a general store until One red rose met another red rose and said: “My, but you have been blooming a long time.” The other red rose replied: “Yes, and so have you. Elmer Bell Addresses Kumjoinus Class The regular social evening of the Kumjoinus class was held in Main Street United Church on Monday, March 29th, Mr. Elmer Bell was guest speaker for the evening and gave a very interesting talk which was well received by the group. Rev. Mahoney played the accordian, Harold and Gerald Skinner sang a couple of selections, and a comic duet was sung by Thelma Russell and Claude B 1 o w e s. Lunch was served and a social time was spent. CENTRALIA Mr. and Mrs. Fred Harrison, Bob and Wayne spent Easter Sunday with Mrs. J. Smith in Lucan. Mr. Charles Hodgins, of Mon treal, was an Easter visitor with his brother, Mr. and 'Mrs. Ken Hodgins. The Sacrament of the Lord’s supper will be observed in the church on Sunday morning, Ap ril 4th.
