Mrs. Roy Bell and Graham, of Hensail, visited during the past week with Mrs. Eunice Stone. Mrs. Jahn Parson, who has been confined to her home through illness, is somewhat im proved. Mr. C. V. Pickard who is ill in Victoria Hospital, is improv ing nicely and is expected home the end of the week. Mr. Ray Perkins returned to Toronto after spending the week-end with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Harvey Perkins. Mr. Stanley Walter, of Smith’s Falls, is visiting with his bro ther, William, at Crystal City, Manitoba Mr. and Mrs. John Prout, who have been spending some time at Port Huron, Michigan, have returned to their home in Exe ter. Mr. and Mrs. Fred Hatter, Sr., of Ailsa Craig, are visiting for a couple of weeks with Mr. and Mrs. Fred Hatter, Jr., of ' town. Mr. and Mrs, Will Ryckman were in Hensail on Monday at tending the funeral of the former’s uncle, Mr. Elmer Ryck man. Mr. and Mrs. Jack Kestle, and daughter, of Hamilton spent the week-end with the former’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. Rufus Kestle. Mr. and Mrs. E. Sims and son, Billy, of Crediton, spent Sunday with Everett Sims. Mr. and Mrs, Jack Bates, of Mt. Clemens, Micli., visited over the week-end with Mr. and Mrs. William Triebner and relatives in Exeter, Mr. L. Wickie, Mrs. Marjorie. Tomkins, daughters, Mrs. Main land and Dorothy, of Mitchell, spent Sunday with Agnes Cut ting and other friends. Mr. and Mrs. C. A. Prout, Jr., have returned from their lioney^ moon having spent the past week with the former's grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. J. Prout, Port Huron, Mich. Mr. and Mrs. W. H. Murdock of Hamilton spent the week-end with the latter’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. Wm. H. Wood. Mrs. Murdock sang two solos at the James Street Church Sunday morning. Tribute To Allen Moffatt A beautiful bouquet of Snap dragon adorned the pulpit of the James Street Church, Sunday, in loving memory of Allen Mof fatt, who passed away in Exeter February 1st, 1939, at the age of eight years, placed there by his parents, Mrs. and Mrs. J. R, C. Moffatt, of Toronto. Mr. Mof fatt was former manager of the Canadian Bank of Commerce before that ’branch was taken over by the Bank of Montreal, Mrs. Hap Wells received word from England that her mother passed away. Mrs, Wells has the sympathy of the community in the loss of her mother. Mr. and Mrs Harold Beavers have purchased the dine and dance building recently erected at Spruce Grove, Centralia, and will have it moved to their property in Exeter North in the near future. Mrs. Myrtle Hunter, of Toron to, called on friends in Exeter the latter part of the week and was the guest of her daughter, Mrs, Douglas Brintnell. Mr. and Mrs, L. Stone and daughter Donna and Marlene at tended the birthday party given by Mr, and Mrs. Howard Ander son in honor of their mother, Mrs. James Squire, Tuesday evening of this week.
