May and G. Mueller and Mary Mahoney and R. D. Parke and P, Former Exeter Resident Following a short illness, George H. Smith, 6-2 Duchess avenue, Lon­ don, died in Victoria Hospital, Wednesday. He was 65. A resident of London.for1 tht past 11 years, Mr. Smith had been employed at the Kernohan Lumber Co. Born in Zurich, Mr. Smith mov­ ed to Exeter and spent the most part of his life in this community before moving to London. He is survived by his wife, the former Ella Weido, two sons, Claire, London, Eyrne, England; two daughters, Mrs. S, Lassaline, London, and Mrs. Norman Hunter, Stratford; one brother, Albert, Pt. Huron, and five Venatter, Port O’Brien, Zurich; ler, Stouffville, Milverton, and Daulphin, Man. A private funeral service was held at the George E. On Wednesday evening of last week a number of friends and neighbours gathered at the home of Mr, and Mrs, Albert Morlock, in honour of Mrs. Morlock’s birth­ day. Christmas Meeting' A very enjoyable evening was •spent at the home of Mrs, BLloyd England on Monday when the members of the Women's Institute held their December meeting and annual Christmas party. About 40 ladies were present and business was presided over by Mrs. Hugo Schenk. It was decided that the Society sponsor a Home Baking sale on Saturday, January 10 and plans are being made to hold a social evening on January 28 th. Mrs. W. Mack took the chair for the program consisting of carol singing; two musical numbers by Donald Finkbeiner; a Christmas story by Mrs. (Rev.) Reuber and a reading by Mrs. Mack. Some time was spent in making scrap books for Sick Children Hospital. Very elaborate refreshments were served by Mrs. W.
