They made a creditable show­ ing, coming fourth and fifth re­ spectively in a class of 48. They were accompanied by the local leader, Mrs. J. Kirkland and the county coach, Miss Durnin, of Dun­ gannon. Carry on girls. Mrs. Stewart Bell had the mis­ fortune while picking apples on Monday to fall and fracture her leg and is confined to hospital. Mr. and Mrs. Bert Peck return­ ed to their home in Windsor after spending a few days here. Mrs. Geo. Walker had the mis­ fortune to fall in her home last week and lacerate her knee-cap. Her many friends hope for a speedy recovery. The W.M.S. of Carmel Church will hold their thankoffering meet­ ing on Thursday evening, Oct. 30, when Mrs. A. Taylor, of Goderich, will be the guest speaker. Mr. and Mrs. Ed. Fink spent the week-end in Toronto. Mr. and Mrs. G. M. Drysdale re­ turned home from Mt. Clements. On Friday evening the members of St. Paul’s Church held a congre­ gational get-together which took the form of a chicken supper served at 6:30 p.m. Mr. Tindall, of Exeter, displayed some of his feats of magic and slight of hand. The special guests for the occasion were the Rev. C. L. and Mrs. Exeter. Arnold Circle Meets The Arnold Circle iliary held their October meeting at the home of Mrs. Charles Forrest on Monday evening with Mrs. J. Farquhar presiding. Miss Jean Mc­ Queen presided and opened the meeting by singing “More Love to Thee Christ”. The scripture lesson was read by Mrs. Geo. Moir after which Mrs. Melvin Moir led in prayer. Hymn, “Breathe on Me Breath of God” was sung. The roll call was answered by “something I am thankful for.” Following! the business Miss Alice Pfaff very ably presented the topic. A daughter late Mr. and Mrs. James she had resided lately in where she was manager of shop. Surviving are three brothers, James Hagan, Seaforth, Dr, John and Dr, J. L., of Chicago, and Frank, Hay township; three sisters, Dolly, Hay township, Mary, London, and Mother Angela Teresa, Wind­ sor. Requiem high mass was sung at St. Boniface Church, Zurich, oh Tuesday, October 21st, at 10 a.m. with Rev. Father Lucier officiating. Interment was in St. Boniface cem- I etery. g with her Geo.
