McLeod, of Long Beach, California, is visiting with Mrs. D. A. Anderson. Mr. Donald Hooper visited on. Sunday at Mr. and Mrs. Ray Flet­ cher in Usborne, Mrs. A. Francis and son Harry, of St. Marys, visited with Mr. and Mrs. Ray Fletcher on Sunday. Mrs. Chas. Randall, of London, visited with Mr, and Mrs. Frank Taylor Thursday of last week. Mr. and Mrs, Fred Nixon, of St. Claire, Mich., spent Saturday with the latter’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Welsh. Mrs. Jas. Blair, of Exeter, and Mr. and Mrs. Ronald Fletcher and Blair, of Usborne, spent Sunday with relatives in London. Mrs. Ed Lucier and children, Garnet and Gary, of Windsor, are visiting this week with Mr. and Mrs. Douglas Triebner. Mr. B. W. F. Beavers and Mrs. Myrtle Brown attended the Rodd- Kirkby wedding in Kirkton United Church Saturday, Sept. 20th. Misses Helen Westcott, Amelia Fisher and Norma Fletcher, of Exeter attended the Rodd-Kirkby wedding in Kirkton United church cm Saturday. Messrs. Harold and Gerald Skin­ ner assisted with the music at the anniversary services of the United Church, Clandehoye, afternoon and evening, Sept. 21st. Mr. and Mrs. Laverne Stone, Donna and Marlene, of Kirkton, visited with Mi’s. Stone’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. Jas. Squire on Mon­ day of this week. Mrs. Garfield Sheere and daugh­ ter, Mrs. Lesley Scott, son Morley and son-in-law, I. Lundy, of Brant­ ford, visited the former’s mother, Mrs. W. Mitchell and other rela-< tives in town on Friday last. Messrs. Wm. Ellerington, of Us-1 borne, and Sheridan Revington, of Lucan, left this week for Manitoul- in Island where they will attend the annual co-operative auction sale of cattle. They will motor through to the West going as far as Cal­ gary. Miss Margaret Melville is visit* ing in Toronto and Muskoka. Mr. and Mrs. Jas. squire enter­ tained a number of friends Exeter Fair night. Miss Isobei Turnbull, of London, visited for a few days last week with relatives in town. Mrs. C. W, Parkinson and baby, of Chatham, spent the week-end with Mr. Parkinson at the Melville Inn, Mr. and Mrs. D. B. Sanders and Mrs. J. Pomeroy, of London, spent Thursday in Exeter attending the Fair and visiting with friends. William John Albert, son of Mr. and Mrs. Stanley Green, of Dresden, formerly of Exeter, was the win­ ner in the baby contest at the Dres­ den fair. Mr. and Mrs. N. Hockey and Wayne and Mr. and Mrs. H. Hockey and children visited on Sunday with Mr, and Mrs. J. Waldron in Clin­ ton. Bobby Johnston, son of Mr. and Mrs. Lome Johnston, is a patient in the Wai’ Memorial Hospital, in London, for a week receiving treat­ ment. Students who have resumed their studies at Western University are Don Traquair, Norman Hannigan, Peter Fraser, Misses Helen Snell and Gwenneth Jones. Mr. Jack Mallett, of London, par­ aded in an Exeter Band uniform and played one of the kettledrums at the Exeter Fair last Thursday. This is an annual event for Mr. Mallett and his friends enjoy see­ ing him. Mr. and Mrs. Jack Kestle and daughter, who recently returned from Winnipeg and have been vis­ iting with the former’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. Rufus Kestle, left Monday for Hamilton where Jack has accepted a position at the head office of Canadian Canners. Birthday Party Mrs. Ralph Bailey entertained in honor of her daughter, Sheila's birthday on Saturday in the form of a theatre party. Her guests re­ turned to hep home for lunch. One of the highlights of the day was a telegram from her brother, Lou, in Sask., vTho is .enroute to the west coast to visit his aunt in Port Angeles. Brother Passes Mr. and Mrs. Will Ryckman were i ailed to Clinton early Friday morning owing to the passing of the former's brother, Edward Ryck- man, who came here from Van­ couver seven weeks ago on a visit. He became ill on the way down and after visiting with his sister in Clinton and his brother here for a week, he was taken to Clinton hospital for treatment.
