Minutes of the last regular meet ing held on July 14th were approv ed and adopted as printed on mo tion of Tuckey and. Simpson. The Clerk reported that Pat Mc Cann, contractor’ on the open por tions Wurm Municipal Drains, being un able to fulfill his contract to begin the work soon after July 1st, had agreed to the cancellation of his contract in favor of Chas. P. Diet- rich, of Dashwood, and that Mr. Dietrich had signed a new contract to do the work. Mr. Dietrich interviewed the ■Council and provided a Guarantee in connection with his contract ac ceptable to the Council. He report ed that he had started work on the Cann-Mitchell Drain and that good progress was being made. In view of the probable increased cost of tile portions ofthe Cann- Mitchell and the the Engineer’s agreed to call a terested parties ning, situation. The following was tabled and dealt with as fol lows: County of Huron, refund on hospitalization account — turned over to treasurer; 'County of Huron, hospitalization account —-accepted; Workmen’s Compensation Board, re delay in adjucating snowplow injury claim and stating that they would make a personal enquiry later in the summer—filed; S. Mrs. Elmer Powe visited with relatives at -Ripley last week. A number from here attended the horse races at New Hamburg on Wednesday of last week. Miss Margaret Cook, of Kitchen er, spent the week-end with her parents. While on vacation Mar garet enjoyed a trip to .the Thous and Islands and other points of in terest in the East. Rev. and Mrs. Weir and family reurned home last week after a month’s vacation. For the past few months, Mr, Jas. Cook has been working indus triously on the remodelling of the south part of the Dufferin House and making it into apartments for aiforce families. The task is completed occupied. SAINTSBURY The Sunday School picnic of St. Patrick's church, Saintsbury, was held on August 2nd at the Lions Park, Seaforth, with almost a per fect attendance of scholars. Dinner was served at 1.30 and tea at 5 o’clock. All reported a good time.
