Mar- visit- Mor- MOUNT CARMEL Glavin—Dietrich A pretty wedding took place in Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church, Mt. Carmel, Saturday, June 28th, when Martina Mary, youngest daughter of ‘Mrs. Christina Dietrich and the late Noah Dietrich, Dash wood, was united in marriage to Joseph Gerard, son of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Glavin, Mt. Cornel. Rev. Father Fogarty performed the cere mony and sang the nuptial mass. Given in marriage by her brother, Benedict Dietrich, the bride wore a white silk jersey gown fashioned with sweetheart neckline and long sleeves. A halo of pearl beading- held her embroidered silk net veil which extended into a slight train. She carried a satin-covered prayer book with streamers tied with fern and pink rose 'buds. She wore the groom's gift, a string of pearls. Miss Dorothy Ziler, cousin of the bride, as bridesmaid, wore a gown of blue sheer over satin with sweet heart neckline and matching floral headdress with shoulder-length veil and carried a colonial nosegay of pink roses and cornflowers. Patrick Glavin, brother of the groom, was best man. Following the ceremony a dinner was served at the home of the bride’s mother. The bride’s mother received in navy blue and white with a corsage of pink roses. The groom’s mother wore navy trimmed with white with a corsage of pink roses. The bridal couple left latei- on a motor trip to land and points northward. On return Mr. and Mrs. Glavin reside on the groom’s farm Mt. Carmel. Miscellaneous Shower A very enjoyable evening spent at the home of Mr. and Louis Ziler on Monday evening of last week in honor of tlfeir niece, Miss Martina Dietrich, bride-elect of this month. The early part of the evening was spent in dancing. Mar tina was then escorted to a chair decorated with pink and white streamers and a wagon load of gifts, drawn by Misses Gertrude and Jeanette Ziler, was brought into the living room to the strains of the wedding march played by Mrs. William Stade. Miss Dorothy Ziler then read the following ad dress: Dear Martina: We, your friends and neighbors, have assembled here in our home I this evening to wish you much joy in the event of your coming mar riage. We will miss you, Martina, and also your charming personality. But what is one’s loss is another’s gain. At this time we ask you to accept these gifts not because of the instrlnsic value that may be at tached to them but rather that it will be a remembrance that you may look upon for years that are before you knowing that you shall always be remembered in the hearts of your ( old friends.—Signed by your neighbors and friends.
