On motion of Councillors Ellerington and Simpson, all changes were au thorized and appeals granted by the Court. On motion of Tuckey and Brock the closed. Correspondence: Clerk reported receipt the preliminary map of ville Drain from the Engineer S. W. Archibald, for correction as to property owners in the area. Communication from the Depart ment of Municipal Affairs stating that there was. no authorization in the Statutes for the granting of funds by a Township Council to a Township unit of the Federation -of Agriculture. Filed. From Exeter District High School Board expressing opinion that the appointing bodies to the Board should pay their representatives. Council declared themselves in fav or of remunerating their represen tative but considered it advisable that all the members of the Board should be paid alike. Action was deferred until the County, or the Board by general agreement should set the rate. A further letter from the Exeter District Hight School Board asking the Township to prepay two thirds of its share of the money to be rais ed by taxation in the Township in Co. Co, Department of Highways sent approval of the Township 19 47 Road Expenditure By-Law approp riating $25,000 for that purpose Filed. A resolution Clerk to ask the School the Township for their quisitions was -passed on Councillors Simpson and On motion of Councillors Eller ington and Brock the Road Super intendent was instructed to charge $4.50 per hour for work done by the Township grader outside of the Township but that the charge >to ratepayers should remain the same as formerly, $3.00 per hour. On motion of Councillors Tuckey and Ellerington the current bills were passed and orders drawn on the Treasurer for the payment of same to the amount of $4,S59.03 including the prepayment of to the Exeter District High Board. AVe have learned with regret that Mr. William Morlock suffered a fall at his home last week and frac tured his hip, I-Ie was removed to Victoria Hospital by ambulance where he underwent an operation on Saturday. Mr. -Morlock, who is 84 years of age, had been excep tionally active up to the time of his accident and we are glad to report that he is progressing favorably. Our sympathy is extended to Mr. and Mrs. L, P. Boulianne, due to the death of the latter’s father. Rev. away week. The funeral was held from Grace United Church, Kingston, on Thursday. The regular monthly meeting of the Ladies’ Aid and W.M.S. of the Evangelical Church was held at the home of Mrs. Emmery Fahrner on Tuesday, April 8th, at 8:15 p.m. with an attendance of 28. Mrs. M. E. Reuber was in charge of the Devotional period and opened the meeting with the hymn, “The Church’s One Foundation.” Mrs. E. Fahrner led in prayer and read the scripture lesson on Romans 10: 12-15. Mrs. Reuber gave an inter esting review of “The Rebuilding of the Church in China” and Rev. M. E. Reuber gave a talk on Evan gelical work in China and the Union of Fifteen Missions into the Church of Christ in China. The hymn, “Help Us. O Lord, Thy Yoke to Bear,” was sung and a duet, “His Love is Wonderful,” was rendered by Miss Nornia Fahrner and Miss Elsie Gaiser.
