A BBC singer shattered a tum bler half full of water in the home of a listener forty miles away when she gave with B flat at the end of “One (Fine Day” from Madame Butterfly. The tumibler was reported to have exploded into a thousand pieces with a loud report, scattering bits of glass over the greater part of the room.
