School Area The regular meeting of the borne Township School Area held in Winchelsea school Thursday, ‘February 20th( at p.m. with all members present, minutes ’were adopted as read. It was moved by *M. Pullen and sec onded by H, Taylor that a unit of the Huron County Library Associa tion be established in this area; carried. Moved by H, Hern, second ed by M. Pullen that the equaliza tion of the several schools as rec ommended by the Inspector ‘be ac cepted; carried. Moved ery, seconded by *M. commencing March 1st, must sign the contract the department lowing bills were Salaries $1,46'0.37; 66; fuel 279.50; 97.75; supplies 10.48; fire insurance *12.30. Kumjoinus Class Party On Monday evening the members of the Kumjoinus Class of Main Street Church met at the Church for the monthly social evening. There was a splendid attendance and Mr. Claude JBlowes, the presi dent was in the chair. Following the business session and the read ing of the bulletin some splendid films were shown -under the direc tion of Gerald Skinner and Earl Russell, Doughnuts and coffee were served by the social committee the close of the meeting. US- was on 8.30 The Mrs. Moses BecRler, of Usbornej * was in hospital for a few days un dergoing treatment. A service school on Diesel trac tors for the dealers was held in Huxtable’s Shop on Monday and Tuesday, Messrs. Ray Wuertli and Reg, Wuerth, of London, are visiting for a few days with their sister, Mr. and Mrs. R. M, Long, of De troit. Sandy Elliot has made some im portant changes in connection with the Ford Garage, having moved the office to the south part of building. Mrs. Howard Anderson and ghter, Shirley, or Washington ored up and spent a few days cently with the former’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. Jas. Squire. Squire returned with them spend a few days. Mr. Eric Heywood who is with the Royal Canadian Fleet Air Arm, is visiting at his home here after hitch-hiking over 1,000 miles from Halifax. Eric was accompanied by two of his buddies, Ronald Stephan of Hensail, and Bob Cook, of Sar nia. They took a week to make the trip. J. M. Southcott was in Ottawa Friday and Saturday attending'! a meeting of the executive of the On tario and Quebec division of the Canadian Weekly Newspapers As sociation at the Chateau Laurier. The annual convention of the as sociation will be held in Ottawa on .Tune 13th -and 11(4th. The two students of the Exeter High 'School, Donald iBedard, of Zurich, and Lenore Normington, of Hensail, who were the winners of the recent oratorical contest spon sored by the Exeter Lions Cluib, will go to .London Friday, March 7th, to compete in the district com petition to be held in the Public Library. at Mrs. to her care. Brussels Church Destroyed The 77-year-old St. John’s lican church at Brussels was de stroyed 'by ..fire early Tuesday morning leaving only the brick walls and steeple standing. Dam age is estimated at $30,000 only partially covered by insurance. The church was one of the early land marks of Brussels.
