South- cott presiding. The meeting open­ ed with a hymn and all repeating the Lord’s Prayer. Minutes and roll call were followed with re­ ports from the various secretaries and the treasurer. Mrs. Anne Cann as group leader, then took charge A scripture lesson was read by Meta Salter followed with prayer by May Jones. Mrs. Jean Creech sang a solo. The study book “In­ dia at the Threshold’’ was taken by May Jones. A duett was sung by Margaret Melville and Barbara Dinney. The guest speaker was Mrs. MacLean, who gave a very timely address that was much preciated by all. Lunch was ved by the group in charge. ap- ser- James St. Y.P.U. The regular meeting of James Street Y.P.U. was held Mon­ day evening in the church base­ ment. Marion Rundle presided over the meeting and opened it with hymn 285. The minutes were read and accepted and business was dis­ cussed. The remaining .part was taken over by Shirley Coates, head of Christian Citizenship. The scrip­ ture was read by Andrew Dougall followed by a prayer by Norma Steinbach. Margaret Dougall favor­ ed with a delightful instrumental. The story was read by Margaret Rundle. The meeting closed with hymn 15 2i followed by the 'Mizpah Benediction. the O.E.S. Euchre Party Another successful euchre was held last Friday evening in the Eastern Star rooms with over one hundred guests attending. Mr. Wm. The party was held in honor of Kenn Tuckey, who recently returned from hospital. Supper was served at five, from a table decorated with hearts and red tapers, cent­ red with a bouquet of red and white carnations. Short speeches were given by Barbara, Muriel, Oarmen, Patsy, Shirley, Gary, Bil­ lie, Beverly, Donnie and Roy. Kenn, as President, thanked the officers for the nice party and all the .girls and boys for the kind­ ness shown him while in hospital. Kenn was then chosen Postmaster and distributed Valentines. Games were then enjoyed.
