The bride was attired in a smart silver grey tailored suit with matching hat and accessories and carrying a bou­ quet of red carnations. Her matron of honor was Mrs. R. B. Crapper, her sister, wearing a smart brown gabardine, suit and carrying Talis­ man roses. Mr. Crupper was grooms­ man. J. Amy, Deputy- ,Reeve; and Councillors James H, Dalton, Henry c, Beaver and Wil'’ lis Gill. The minutes of the previ­ ous meeting were read and adopted on motion of .J. H. Dalton and Hy. Beaver; carried, By-Law iNo. 651 was given a first and second reading which is a By-law appointing certain officials for the year lyai. Moved by Willis Gill, seconded by Harry Beaver that By-law 652 be passed which is a By-law to auth­ orize the borrowing of $7,000 from the Bank of Montreal, Exeter; car­ ried. Moved <by J, H. Dalton, seconded by Harry Beaver that By-law 653 be passed which is a By-law to pro­ vide for the expenditure on roads in the Township of Stephen for the year 1947; carried. Moved by A. J. Amy, seconded by Willis Gill that the Council give a grant of $100 to the Canadian Aid to 'China Relief Fund; carried. Moved by J. H, Dalton, seconded by Harry Beaver that the Council give a grant of $25.00 to the Sal­ vation Army; carried. Moved iby Harry Beaver, seconded by Willis Gill that the membership fee of $5.00 be paid to the Ontario Asosciation of Rural Municipalities and the Reeve be appointed as a delegate to the Convention to be held in Toronto on February 24th and 25th. Mr. J. H- Dalton was ap­ pointed as alternate if Mr. Ratz is unable to attend; carried, Correspondence was read from the County representative, Mr. Le- Roy Brown re eradication of weeds. The council were in accord with the plan and felt that a demonstration plot might well be demonstrated in Stephen Township. * Mr. Ed. Hendricks was present and spoke of the control of Warble Fly which is ’being considered by the Federation of Agriculture in the County. The Council felt that a meeting of the ratepayers of the Township of Stephen might be call­ ed in the near future with a special speaker present to explain ways and means of control and clean up of this pest. Moved by A. J. Amy, seconded by J. H. Dalton that the subscriptions to the Municipal World 'be renewed and copies to be sent to the Reeve, Deputy .Reeve, Councillors, Clerk, Treasurer, Assesor and Road Super­ intendent; .carried. Miss 'No la Faist presented her report on the road expenditure on the roads in the Township of Ste­ phen for the ygar 194 6. Miss Faist was commended by the Council for the excellent report and the. splen­ did way in which the books were kept. Moved 'by Harry Beavers, second­ ed by J- H. Dalton that application be made to the Department of High­ ways for the Statutory Grant; car­ ried. A resolution was passed in which the Council were unanimous that there be no increase in salary for any official in the year 1947; car­ ried. Moved by, J. H. Dalton, seconded by A. J.
