The Kirkton Community Skating Rink held their annual meeting on Thursday evening, Dec. 19th, with quite a large attendance. Plans were made to repair building and secure a ; ice. The recent heavy brought the jingle of sleighs and also plow. Miss Blanche land, spent the with her twin Switzer. Mr. R. Pearson and Mr. Sidney Pearson, of Collingwood, spent the week-end with Mr. and Mrs. Geo. Hall. Quite a large number from the village attended the school concert at the Plugtown school, Usborne. The teacher, Mrs. Ridley, put on a very fine concert. Mr. Wein follow­ ed with his musical part which was much enjoyed. Santa Claus called at the close of program and de­ livered a great number of gifts to the children. All departed to their homes very happy, knowing that another term had closed for another year, Miss Middleton, teacher at Strat­ ford, spent the week-end with Miss Norma Tufts. Mr. Russell Morrison, of Brant­ ford, is spending the Christmas holidays at his home in the village. Mr. A. T. Wiseman is holidaying with his son, Mr. John Wiseman, in Hamilton. A. Mollard is ill with a very sore arm and shoulder, having slipped and fallen down the base­ ment. Mr. Herman Kennedy has arrived home after five months in Victoria Hospital with a broken leg. Every­ one was glad to see him. The hockey fans are getting the new skating rink up at the dine and dance where they will have a good rink when completed.
