W, J. Smith protested the right
of the Arena Board to hold bonds
and raised a pointless question as
to whether it was a board or com
mittee. He was told it was a board.
He charged the reeve of having
ordered him to leave a .council meet

both reeve and council.
Members of the retiring
were all nominated again.

election. John Caldwell asked for
the support of both the north and
south of Exeter. J. W. Hern was
undecided whether to run or not,
' He said the care of the town side
walks was an important task. Rol
and Williams felt that the financial
report was incomplete. He thought
the council should have had the.
streets sanded at ‘Christmas time..
Reginald Beavers hoped that the
ratepayers would pick a commend
able council. Asking support at the
polls if he decided to run, A. J.
Sweitzer»said that he had tried to
do his duty in previous years of
council work.
W. E. Middleton was the only
candidate for the public school
'board present and said he was in
terested in the school work and
hoped to be elected.
The clerk called upon J. M.
Southcott for a report on the school.
Speaking for the retiring Board he
praised the untiring effort of R.

after a long and faithful service
rendered to the municipality.
