Miss Margaret Regan, who has been attending college in Toronto, is holidaying at the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. M. J. Ryan. Miss Betty Ryan, R.N., of Sarnia, also spent the week-end here. Mr. and Mrs. Martin M'clsaac, of Detroit, called on friends here on Sunday. Mr. Byrne and Jean and Edward visited over the week-end with Mr. and Mrs] M, McDonald. Mr and Mr. Mrs. Mr. families attended the Desjardine Re­ union at Grand Bend on Saturday. Word was received in town of the sudden death of Pat Mahoney, of' Alberta. He is survived by his wife, the former Mary Quearin three daughters and two sons, several brothers and a sister, and Mrs. Mahoney visited here summer. The sports of the evening consisted of a ball game, a sing-song, followed by a weiner roast. Church Meeting The W.M.S. and W.A. of United Church held their monthly meeting in the basement of the church on Thursday last with Group 3 in charge with Mrs. Clover Lewis as convenor. The meeting op­ ened with a hymn “I must need go home by the way of the Cross,’’ fol­ lowed by prayer. Scripture reading by Mrs. Clover Lewis; a reading by Mrs, W. Morley, "All Ways Prayer”; Mrs. Lewis rendered a solo, “This is my song, O God of the Nations”; Miss Kathleen Morley gave the fourth chapter of the Study Book; Mrs. Gordon Banting gave an inter­ esting talk on Round Lake Indian Mission School, Qu’Appelle, Sask. The president of the W.A., Mrs, Geo. Hodgson then took the chair open­ ing the meeting by reading Psalm I, followed by a hymn, “What a Fel­ lowship, What a Joy Divine.” Busi­ ness part of the meeting was then discussed. The meeting was closed by use of hymn, “My Jesus, I Love Thee,” and all repeated the Mizpah Benediction. Rev. Wm, Mair officiating. The bride wore a floor-length gown of white organza brocaded with lilies-of-the-valley It was made in the torso style with a sweetheart neckline and long sleeves coming to points over her wrist. Her finger­ -tip veil was held by a sweetheart headdress and she carried a nose­ gay of red roses and - white sweet peas with 'satin streamers. Her only ornament was a pearl matching earrings, a groom. Miss groom, gowned pale blue. The tight-fitting was made of lace with a sweetheart neckline and the full skirt was net over taffeta. She wore a shoulder- length veil of. blue with a match­ ing headdress of flowers and car­ ried a nosegay of pink roses and colored sweet peas. Mr. Ronald Fletcher, of Wood­ ham- was best man. Later a redeption was held at the home of the groom’s parents for about thirty guests.
