Hill, attended the .Green-Hagel- stein wedding at St. Catharines on Saturday. Dr, anq Mrs. Karl Morlock. and daughter, Anne Louise, of Rochest er, Minn., are visiting at the home of Mr. and Mrs, Edward Morlock, Miss Lula Morlock, of Windsor, spent the week-end with hei' par ents, Mr, and Mrs, E. Morlock. Mr, and Mrs, Gerald Zwicker are vacationing at their summer home at Grand Bend. Mr. C, Berg, of Detroit, spent the week-end here and was accompanied home by Mrs, Berg, who had visit ed the past week with her sister, Mrs. Herb Fahrner. Mrs. Ezra FaiSt who has been confined to the hospital in London for the past few weeks, arrived home on Tuesday much improved, we are glad to report. Mr. Charles Brown, who has been on an extended trip West, arrived home on Friday. Miss Harriet Bowen, who has been confined to St. Joseph’s Hospital, London, since her accident a weeks ago, lias been placed in a and is now able to sit up for a tion of each day. Mr. and Mrs. Fred Eilber add Ronald, of Detroit, visited over the week-end with Mr. and Mrs. A. King. Mr. Ken McLeod and Bob Wade spent the week-end at the former’s home in St. Thomas. Miss Kaye Russell spent the week end at her home in Russeldale, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Brown, who have been visiting relatives here for some time, have returned to their home in Detroit. Mr. and Mrs. Melvin Wein and Mr. Sylvester Silance, of Flint, Mich, spent the week-end at the home of Mr. and Mrs. 'Godfrey Wein. Mrs. Ada Kuhn, of Kitchener, and Mr, and Mrs. Stuart Kuhn and fam ily, of Baden, visited over the week end with the former’s father, Mr. [Chas. Kienzle. I Mrs. J. A. iPipher, of Toronto, is visiting at the home of her parents, Rev. and Mrs. W. H. Yates. Mrs. Jos. Woodall spent the week end in Windsor, Royal Oak and Clawson. Our sympathy is extended to Mrs. J. Waldron and family, of Grand Bend, in the sudden passing of Mr. . Waldron on Friday. Mr, Waldron conducted a bakery here for several years in the building now occupied by Mr. H. Schenk. Mr. and Mrs. Otto Brown accom panied by Mr. and Mrs. Norman Brokenshire and son Stanley, of Talbotville enjoyed a three-day motor trip along Lake Erie. They entered the U.S. at Niagara Falls and returned by Detroit. Mr. and Mrs. Otto Brown visited on Sunday with their daughter, Mrs. O. Squire and attended the Thames Road anniversary in the evening. A joint meeting of the Women’s Missionary Society and Woman’s ; Association of the United Church, was held on Wednesday of last week at the home of Mrs. Elmer Lawson, with an attendance of 32. Mrs. Gar field Hill was in charge of the W.M.S. meeting and Rev. Trueblood gave a talk on the different paths to missions. Mrs. A. Baker presided over the W.A. meeting and a num ber of business items were taken care of. Miss Elaine Mitchell favor ed the meeting with a piano solo. The hostesses, Mrs. Jas. Mawhinney and Mrs. Wilfred Mack served elaborate refreshments and a social time was enjoyed, ley extended an Society, July. A claim from Wm, Dickey for hens destroyed by a dog was dis allowed because the amount in dis pute was less than the minimum 5 0 lbs. but it was moved by Eller- ington and Ducan that Mr. Dickey be paid the bounty of $5.00, provid ed for by Township by-law shooting a dog found destroying poultry; carried. A discussion took place re recent improvements made to grounds of the Exeter Agricultural Society; moved by Brock and Dun can that this Township pay the Exeter Agricultural Society a spe cial grant on this account of $300; carried. Moved by Duncan and Brock that the regular grants to the Kirkton and Exeter Agricultural Societies, this year be $60.00 to each society; carried. Re bridge between lots 15 and 16, concession 13 or Exeter side road, in need of repairs; moved by Duncan and Ellerington that nec essary temporary repairs be made now and that the Road ’Superintend ent secure specifications from an Engineer with a view to rebuilding the bridge next year; carried. The Centralia school will hold their picnic on the school grounds on Thursday evening, June Everybody is welcome. Mr. A. Proctor spent the end at his home. W.M.S. Meeting’ The June meeting of the W.M.S. was held at the home of Mrs. Her man Powe with an attendance of twenty. Mrs. George McFalls led the service which opened with “0 Canada” played softjy by Mrs. Penwarden. This was followed by the Call to Worship. Hymn 16 was sung. Scripture reading by Mrs. F.
