Thedford Onions Damaged
A report from Thedford states
that several thousand dollars dam
age has been done by high winds to
district onion crops. Licko Brothei-s
are heaviest losers in the area. Four
acres of recently seeded onions
were blown away along with four
inches of top soil. The soil blew
like a cloud of smoke over the en-
tire district. A survey of the dam
age revealed near-by ditches almost
filled with the rich highly fertilised
soil worth $25<0’ to $300 an acre.
Some -district onion ’ growers are
. preparing to plant a third time due
to previous blow-outs
