The annual meeting of the Mc­ Gillivray W.I. was held in the hall with Mrs. Murray Hamilton presid­ ing for the election of officers which are as follows: 'President, Mrs. Jas. Dixon; 1st vice-president, Mrs. Par­ ry Thomson; 2nd vice-president, Mrs. Mac. McDonald; secretary­ treasurer, Mrs. Murray Hamilton; assistant, Miss Marie Boland. This was followed by the presentation of a gift to four ladies who have moved from tlie district. Miss Marie Boland was then called to the plat­ form and was presented with a mis­ cellaneous shower in honor of her approaching marriage. Miss Boland made a suitable reply and all joined in singing, “'Fqt She’s a Jolly Good Fellow.” Lunch, was then served and a social half hour enjoyed by all present. Meeting The W.M.S. meeting in the church on Tuesday evening of last week. The program was in charge of Mrs. Loretta Hicks and Mrs. M. Elliott with Miss Dorothy Hicks as leader. The meeting opened with the call to worship; Jesus, stand among us, Un Thy risen power, May this time of worship, Be a hallowed hour. This was followed by the singing of a hymn. The General Thanks­ giving was repeated in unison. Pas­ sages of scripture were' read by Mrs. M. Elliott, Mrs. Geo. McFalls and Mrs. Loretta Hicks. The pro­ gram Evangelism in the Early church; Evangelism in the Crusade for Christ and His Kingdom was taken by the above three ladies with Dorothy Hicks as leader. The story “I did not deserve that med­ al” was read by Mrs. F. Bowden. Mrs. Geo. Hepburn was in the chair for the business. Mrs. Cecil Skinner was named as a delegate to the Presbyterial in Winghani. The president read a letter of ap­ preciation from Mrs. W. Webber for the card sent to her during her illness. Following the meeting a very dainty lunch was served by Mi’s. Captain and W. Bowden.
