Miss Vera Essery, who has been ill in Victoria Hospital, is in a very critical condition. Word to this effect was received in Exeter Monday. Mr. and Mrs. J. G. Davis, of Kin­ cardine, spent Sunday with Mr. and Mrs. Clark Fisher. Mr. and 'Mrs. Wm. Fisher returned with them to Kincardine. Shirley and Lorna Taylor attend­ ed the Y.W.'C.A. camp re-union in London! on Saturday and were week-end guests with Miss Barbara Smith of that city. Mr. and Mrs. Frank Taylor and Jean visited with Mr. and Mrs. Marshall Box, of Parkhill, on Sun­ day. Mrs. Box, of Stephen, returned with them after visiting for several days in Parkhill. Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Chambers spent the week-end in Streetsville and Toronto. Mr, Chambers attend­ ed the First Annual Dinner for the Corps of Canadian Fire Fight­ ers (Overseas) at Hamilton Saturday evening, Paul Gregus, of London, son Mr. and Mrs. August Gregus, Exeter, underwent an operation for the removal of his tonsils at Crum- lin Military Hospital on Saturday, March 10. He is getting along as well as can ,be expected. There has been a short run of sap and some maple syrup is being made but the prospects for a good crop are not very bright. The wea­ ther at present is quite mild, with the snow all gone. Spring flowers are peeping through the ground. Messrs.
