Mr. and Mrs. Percy Dunsford and Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Genttner spent Sunday in Brussels with Lieut, and Mrs. W. C. Dunsford and Mrs. Baeker. Mrs. Maria Jane Williams, aged 97. mother of Mr. John Williams, of Kirkton, died at Brantford on Tuesday, February 5 th. She had been an invalid since 19 22. Miss Lillian Hueston recently un­ derwent an operation in Victoria Hospital, London, and is improving nicely. Her sister, Mrs. H. C. Rivers is also in the hospital for X-ray treatments, Mr. J. A. Traquair is in Toronto attending the annual convention of hardware dealers at the Royal York Hotel. He was accompanied to Toronto by T. O. Southcott on a business trip. Mrs. Zurbrigg was in London the latter part of the week owing to the. illness of her daughter, Laur- ene, who is ill in St. Joseph’s Hos­ pital. Laurene is a student at Western. She is improving nicely. Pte, Bruce Cann and Miss Pearl Cann returned home* from Guelph where they visited for a week with their sisters and brothers-in law, Mr. and Mrs. George T. Rockola and Tpr, and Mrs. Calvin Cutting. Mr. Orville Snell, auditor for the various branches of Canadian Banners, and Miss Jean Snell, nurse in training - at Victoria Hos­ pital, London, spent the week-end with their -parents, Mr. and Mrs. Clarisse Snell. Mr. C. H. McAvoy, of Wingham, and Dr. (Capt.) and -Mrs. O'. B. Sanders, of _ Barrie, were visitors with Mrs. McAvoy and Miss Annie Sanders on 'Sunday. The latter also visited in London and Shipka dur­ ing the week-end. ‘ . Last ' Friday evening16 Mr. and Mrs. R. McInnis entertained a number of their friends and neigh­ bors. Girl Guides Meet # ■The weekly meeting of the Girl Guides was held Thursday, Febru­ ary 7th at 1 o’clock. The atten­ dance was small but the girls planned a sleighing party to be held Tuesday, .February 12th.0 at 7 o’clock, They decided to serve hot­ dogs and cocoa for lunch.
