Carmel Presbyterian Congregation attended the .annual meeting, which was held in the schoolroom of the church on Thurs­ day evening, February 7th. Rev. P. A. Ferguson was chairman and Mr. J. W. Bonthron, secretary for- the meeting. 'Following the devotional exercises the varied reports of the different organizations were given and were all most gratifying. Fol­ lowing the business, Rev. Ferguson addressed the congregation with an inspirational message. The meeting concluded with prayer and refresh­ ments were served by the ladies. First Meeting of Mission Circle The first meeting of the Mission Circle of the United Church was held recently at the home of Mrs. E. Norminton, who outlined the purpose and work of the Circle. The following officers were elected: President, Eleanor Cook;, vice- president, Bernice Jinks; secretary, Doris Buchanan; treasurer, Elaine Carlisle; devotional, Dorothy (Mc­ Naughton; programme, Eleanor Venner' and Betty .Mickle. It was decided that the meeting would be held at the members’ homes at 7.30 on the second Monday of the month. Following the business the meeting ! closed with the Lord’s Prayer in unison. Evening Auxiliary Meets The Evening Auxiliary of the United Church met at the home of Mrs. E. Geiger on Monday evening with Mrs. Spray and .Miss Margaret Shepherd as hostesses. The .presi­ dent, 'Mrs. B. Kyle, was in charge of the meeting, which opened 'by singing the “Theme Song” and a hymn. The devotional period* was taken >by Mrs. Kyle, the scripture being 1st Corinthians, chapter 13. The roll call was responded to by naming some way of serving others. Miss Gladys Luker was appointed Community Friendship Secretary, Miss Violet McClymont was appoint­ ed Stewardship Secretary. The Study on Africa was taken by Miss M, Ellis. Ladies’ Aid and W.M.S, The regular mee ting of Ladies’ Aid and W.M.S. of Evangelical church was held Thursday evening with Mrs. Links’ group in charge. Mrs. Link opened the meeting with a short reading. The hymn, Beautiful Gar­ den of prayer, was sung, followed by prayer by Mrs. Link. The scrip­ ture was read by Mrs. M. Klumpp. Mrs. Link then gave an outline of a temperance reading and a poem. A duet was then given 'by Rev. and Mrs.’ Burn, “Pause at His Feet for a Moment of Prayer.” Mrs. D, Tie­ man paid a tribute to Dr. 'Susan Bauerfiend who was a .missionary in Japan and passed away October 31st. The meeting closed with prayer by Mrs. Mair. The next meeting will be on March Sth when the “World’s Day of Prayer” will be observed. This meeting will be at the Manse. SHARON FARM FORUM Sharon Farm Forum met Mon­ day night at the Sharon school w.ith ans attendance of fourteen. After the radio discussion the topic, “The Costly Trip from Producer to 'Con­ sumer,’’ was .discussed. ‘Roy Swartz was chairman. An hour of games and amusements was enjoyed fol­ lowed by lunch served by the ladies.
