Adaskin, violinist, and Francis Marr, pianist. Pot Luck Supper " A pot luck supper was provided by the ladies of the United church at a congregational meeting. A sing song followeed conducted by W. Goodwin with Miss Greta Lam mie as accompanist. Rey. Brook addressed a few words of welcome. Reports from the various organiz ations . were presented and proved very satisfactory and interesting. The officers for 1946 were elected. Mrs. Mickle contributed a piano solo and a duet was sung by Rev. Brook and Mr. Goodwin with Miss Gladys 'Luker as accompanist. At the conclusion a very pleasant event was performed by Miss An nie Consitt when she gave an ad dress to Rev. and Mrs. Brook and presented them with a beautiful quilt with numerous names of the members and adherents of the congregation embroidered on it. Women’s Institute Meets The February meeting of the Hensali Women’s Institute will take place at the home of Miss Florence Welsh Wednesday eve ning, February 13th, at 8.15. Mrs. F. Mrs. Alfred Taylor Mrs. Alfred Taylor, a prominent and. life-ling resident of Hensali, passed away at her home here on Saturday in her 86th year. Interment in Hensali Union Cemetery. Sunday Services at United Church Services were held in the .United 'Church last Sunday at 11 a.m. and at 7 p.m. with Rev. R. A. Brook in charge. Owing to the absence of Miss Greta Lammie, organist, Miss Gladys Luker presided at the piano. The choir under the direction of Mr. W. 'O. Goodwin, at the morning service rendered the anthem, “O Sing unto the Lord.” At the eve ning service the Young People's Society conducted the exercises as sisted by (Rev. Quite a KIPPEN St. Andrew’s United Church Report The annual meeting, of St. An drew’s United Church" was held in the Sabbath school room Wednes day evening, January 30 th with Rev. A. Hinton as chairman and T. N. Forsyth as secretary. An atten dance of about fifty persons were present. The reports of the various organizations of the church were read, each by its sponsor and each ■one in turn was adopted by meeting. The following members were pointed to the Managing Board three years: Robert Elgie( Carl Clinchey, H. H. Damm .and Robert McGregor. The year /I# 45 was ralther historic year in the life of church; the congregation under taking extensive renovations to the Manse. With this as their objective the Women’s Association on July 4th held a Strawberry and Ham Supper which netted the Sum of $141.74. Then on October 25th ti grand Fowl Supper and Entertain ment was sponsored by the ladies of the two congregations, Kippen and Hillsgreen, and although price of the geese was high project netted of $533.13. A auction sale of October 31st donations increased the receipts by $40.62 and $41.i0'5 respectively making a total of $756.54, which represents the amount contributed j to the Manse repairs funds by the ladies.
