The CjG.LT, enjoyed a sleighing party Monday evening with about twenty girls enjoying the outing. They returned to the home of Miss Vera Decker for lunch. Mr. and Mrs, iHarvey Schroeder and daughter Carolylee, of Birm­ ingham, Michigan, visited over the week-end with their parents, Mr. and Mrs, Chas, iSchroeder. Miss Doris Penhale, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. A, J. Penhale, was among the students to enter St. Joseph’s Hospital, London, in train­ ing for a nurse on Monday, Janu­ ary 21. Mr. Geo. H. Jefferson, of Clinton, paid a visit to the Exeter lodge of Oddfellows Tuesday evening and gave a Very fine address on Odd­ fellowship. Lunch was served at the close Mrs. Percy Noels spent the week­ end visiting with Miss Bessie Busch in London and visited with her husband, Mr. Percy Noels at West­ minster Hospital who had his ton­ sils removed last Friday. Mr. and. Mrs. Vernon Heywood and son, Vernon, arrived home Saturday morning after spending two months in Victoria, B.C. visit­ ing with Mrs. Heywood’s parents. Mr. and Mrs. L. R. Simon. Miss Patsy Kerslake, eight-year- old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Kerslake, of Usborne, had the misfortune to fall on the ice fracturing her right arm. at" the elbow. We hope for a speedy re­ covery. Mr. and Mrs. Wellington Haist and Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Willert left Thursday -of last week on a motor trip to Florida. The expect to be gone for a couple of may possibly cross the California before their Mr. Rowe Dinney, spent the. week-end at the home of his parents, Mr. and Mrs, T. M. Dinney. Rowe has been transferred to the Head Office of the Royal Bank of Canada in Montreal where he will be attached to the Staff Department. Rev. N. J, Woods, Mrs. Woods and their eldest daughter, Marion, have all been on the sick list at the Main street parsonage. On Sunday morning last the service in Main street church was conducted by Rev. C. W. Down. The evening ser­ vice was withdrawn. Mr. Lawrence Wein has been confined to his home through ill­ ness. On Sunday last Mrs. Wm. Murdock, of Hamilton, who was spending the week-end with her parent's, Mr. and Mrs. Wni, Woods, presided at the organ of the James Street church owing to Mr. Wein's illness. The James Street young people presented their play, “Busy as a Beaver,” in the Zlurlch town hall Wednesday evening of last week and were afterwards entertained to lunch at the Evangelical church by the Zurich young people. Mr. Caldwell was born on the third concession of Tuckersmith Township, near Hensail. In Janu­ ary, 1899, he married Ida McColl, bf Hensall, and they took u.p farm­ ing near Brucefield, later moving to ‘Regina. In 1910 they moved to Lawson. His wife predeceased him in 1934 and in July, 1945, he mar­ ried Mrs. Myrtle McConnell, of Central Butte, Sask, .He leaves his widow, three sons, and three daughters; three sisters, Mrs. Leon­ ard McConnell, of Regina Beach; Mrs, Russell H, Sproat, of Seaforth, and Miss Sadie Caldwell, of Van­ couver; two brothers, (Grant Cald­ well, of Eyebrow, Sask., and John Caldwell, Exeter, Interment took place at Central Butte Cemetery, Once there was a business man, And he was wondrous wise; •Said he; “We’ll save the money it takes to advertise.
