Brock and Billy, of Grace, of Galt, spent Christmas Party Last Wednesday, Dec. 19, the W.M.S. and W.A. and Baby Band met at the church for their Christ­ mas meeting. There were twenty­ seven ladies present also about twelve children. Mrs. Lewis Johns ■ presided and the meeting opened with repeating 23rd Psalm in uni­ son, this was followed by business session for the W.M.S. It was de­ cided to have the customary social evening in January when the hus­ bands are invited. Committees were appointed to arrange for the pro- .gram. The W.A. president conduct­ ed the business for that society and it was decided to give enough money from the W.A. funds to the .W.M.S. to raise their allocation to the desired amount. Both soc­ ieties have had a successful year. Mrs. Mair gave a reading and Mrs. Johns then gave the four new life members of the Baby Band their . certificates'. They were, Shirley Elizabeth Johns, Frances Ruth Johns, Joyce Isabelle Dickey and John Orville Brock. Mrs. Alvin Pym read a poem and Mrs. Gilbert Johns lit candles. Following this the program from the Missionary Monthly was used. Mrs. Harold Bell sang solos and Christmas car­ ols were’ sung in unison interspers­ ed with scripture readings by the leader. Mrs. Mair closed with pray­ er. Banta Claus visited the church and presented the children jwith gifts from a prettily decorated tree. An exchange of gifts was also made among the ladies.
