A former resident of Exeter, Mr.
Herman Heaman, now of Toronto,
relates a rather unique experience.
Mr. Heaman was for several years
an. employee in the general store
then owned by Mr. J. A. Stewart
and at that time was an active mem
ber of the James St. Sunday School
and Epworth League. His son had
often heard him speak of

in one of the latrines he picked up
a newspaper and he saw the name
James Street church. With his curi
osity • aroused he .looked at the
name of the paper and was sur
prised to find that it was an old
copy of the Exeter Times-Advocate.
It gave him quite a thrill to find
a paper from his father’s old home
town. In relating the story

The meeting opened with the presi

Minutes of last meeting were read
and adopted. The business was then
discussed regarding making tea

Ont. It was decided to make as
many as we could. A letter or airgraph was read from Missionaries, 1
Mr. and Mrs. McBride, of Kenya
Colony. Africa, thanking the mem
bers for the layette that had been
sent them, also stating that -the
parcel reached them in good con

the message for the afternoon. She

ing and took for her theme "Go ye
