Letter of Appreciation Mr. R. N. Creech: Dear Sir:-—J must apologize my delay in acknowledging fine parcel sent nie by the Exeter District War Time Committee, At the time of Rs arrival we were ■preparing for a move and had plenty of work on hand, so much so that we had to work nights to he ready and after that we were ready foi‘ bed, At this particular time we were in Belgium enjoying their hospitality which is away ahead of Italy. Since coming to Western Europe I haye visited much of France, driving almost three-quarters of its length finally finishing up near Ypres in Belgium. While -here we were living in priv ate homes: wjiqt a change from tents and old war-damaged build ings but as the saying goes all good things must come to an end some time and so our fine hospitality. We spent almost four weeks in this country and in that time 1 visited some of their cities, among them Ghent and Brussels which are very beautiful and what I saw of them they had very little dam age. As for Antwerp it didn’t fare as well. Harbor installations were damaged by our bombers and then Jerry switched his flying bomb at tacks to the city causing many casualties and a great deal of de struction. Leaving here we started north again for our destination somewhere in Holland and when part way there 1 was fortunate enough to be sent on leave to Eng land. Leave facilities are certainly run smoothly. From the time I left my unit in Holland it took only 26 hours to get me to London. Much of that time I spent on a train heading for the port of barkation. While in England I a grand leave and hope by time another rolls around we be back in Canada and by all pearances it should not be a great way off. Before signing off I would like to take this opportunity to thank all who made this parcel possible and to the Committee in their fine selection of articles in the parcel.—Allan Fraser. em it ad the will ap- Vi Classified Directory 3 GOOD REASONS FOR USING WANT-APS: 1 . .
