This isn’t a wonderful record but taking into consideration that it was the first season of organized hockey for the lads it is a good showing. Both teams showed remarkable ■improvement during the year and that is the main idea of Hockey Association.* * * * The Midgets were put semi-finals by Seaforth eliminated Goderich for Championship. In the next round they met Wingham from whom they won Saturday, 11-5, to advance still further. «?■ * * * x- There were no playoffs for the Juveniles since a winner had to be declared before the playoffs could be finished. Consequently, Seaforth and Goderich played a short series, Goderich coming out the group champs, They met the powerful Lucknow squad with the three Chin brothers and while they lost the round they were able to defeat Lucknow in the first game. * . ---- the Juvenile we note that the goals were confined to seven -play ers. Jim Hay ter, centre on the first line, was the leading sniper collecting a season’s total of 15 goals. Trailing close behind was his right wing partner, Doug Wil son with 13 goals. Jack Hennessey scored four while Ross Tuckey and Junior Musser 5°t Wo and “Har” Brintnell and Jim Whyte got one. Did a Splendid Job In writing about this year’s ac tivities it look the “Derry” “Bunny” Robertson ficials of’ the two clubs, and several other men have devoted to the boys this year. They have do4ne a splen did job. The Lions Club must be •commended for supporting the teams. And to those who lent and drove £heir cars to out of town games as well as the Arena Com mittee and Emerson Cornish for their co-operation we say “Thank You” on behalf of the two clubs. Bigger and better plans are in the minds of hockey supporters for next year and it is hoped to get ‘ ‘ _ and have soine of the younger boys formed into teams. By forming such an organ ization Exeter would be able to develop its own hockey talent from around the surrounding (com munity and would be able to enter a Junior team in the near future.* * * * Dine at the Avalon Through the kind co-operation of the AValon Restaurant last Fri day night the Juveniles got together for a Turkey supper with the club officials.
