Bill Waghorn, goalie for Midgets, was used in the Exeter nets and Bill turned in a good ef fort. First Half Completed This completes the first half of the schedule, Exeter has won two and lost four, 2 of which were by one goal. This puts the locals in third place ahead of Clinton. God erich is in first place with Seaforth in second. Wilson got Exeter off to a gooa start ou a neat solo effort to draw out Swan and dump the puck into the empty cage. Seconds later on the next play K. Doig knotted the count. But before the period was over Hayter, who did the hat trick and turned in a good evening’s per formance, whiffed in two. Whyte rushed down the ice and laid a rink wide pass over to Hayter for the first one and Tuckey started D. Strong’s vis- that the This starter is not in the experimental stage. Seaforth. * * goal with only a deadlock Flyers i Aylmer ___ __, Thursday night. It was the Flyers toughest as signment of the year, the Aylmer squad making their hosts go all out to win. The visitors checked hard and on the offensive their passing plays were very effective. ■F'or the first time this year the Flyers were trailing their opposition when Aylmer grabbed the lead early in the openei* as Hawkes cleared the puck into his own net and again in the third when Horrble broke a five-all deadlock. Soon after Aylmer took the lead in the first McAtee scored the equalizer. Centralia went out in front when Sherritt potted Shaw’s rebound. But their lead ’was short lived as Kent banned his own re bound behind11: Young. Howevei’ Shaw sent a sizzler past Bennet to conclude a solo effort to end the period at 3-2. Wakelin was left unprotected in front of the Centralia net to sink Horrble’s passout to again put the teams on even terms. Howevei’ And ress and Shaw put Centralia two up. In the latter moments of the sec ond Aylmer was carrying the play and continally swooped in and out of the Wakelin twine time. On went __ .. ... Horrble scoring with Wakelin and McKay lending a hand. Shaw’s third goal pulled Centralia out of the hole to tie the count again at 6-6. WItli.-only a minute or so to go McAtee scored to give the Flyers a close decision. Referee—Sgt. Breen, Centralia. -x- x- -x- -x- Clinton and Exeter in Tie Game Exeter -and Clinton Juveniles played to a two-all tie Tuesday night in a close, hard-fought tilt at the Arena. A close-checking first period pro duced no goals for either side. In the second, however, the tussle livened up and Wilson opened the scoring after Musser and Hayter carried the rubber into the Clinton zone. Miller blocked Wilson’s first shot only to have the Exetei’ player push the puck loose into the net. Churchill Evens Count Churchill put Clinton on even terms by breaking up a play at the Exeter blue line and walking in on Waghorn alone, gave the goalie no chance on a short shot. On his third solo jaunt near the end of the period Hayter broke the deadlock drawing out Miller and flipping the disc into the cage. MacDonald converted Fingland’s pass that fooled the defence to knot the count again, in the third. The game went into overtime but neither team scored.
