The ladies of the Hensall Insti
tute wish to announce that they and I
the War Service Committee will be
shipping approximately 5 0’ boxes to |
the Hensall boys who are serving’
overseas, sometime in August. The
funds are very low at present.
Those wishing to help this worthy
project may leave their contribu
tions with Miss Gladys Luker, be
fore August 21st. Donations of
sugar for the provision of candy
will also be .gratefully accepted.
Any one having empty pound boxes
suitable for candy and cookies; or
magazines, is asked to leave them
at the Town Hall anytime. Seaforth

Bride and Groom Honored
A large crowd of relatives and
friends gathered in the Town Hall,
Hensall on Friday evening in honor
of Mr. and Mrs. Ted Munn, who
were recently married. Dancing was
enjoyed to music by Nelson Howe's
orchestra. The presentation of a
chesterfield suite was made to the
bride and groom, address being read
by Mr. Morley Sanders. The groom
expressed sincere thanks
and everyone responsible

Wounded in Action
Dr, and Mrs. A, R. Campbell re
ceived official word from Ottawa re
cently that their son, Pte. Jim 'Camp
bell, was wounded in action in
'France on Friday, July 7th. Jim.
who observed his :20th birthday in
June this year, enlisted at London
in 1941 at 16 years of age with the
Highland Light infantry of Gait,
spending three’ months in Canada
and going overseas in July, 1941.
He was born in Hensail ajid received
his education in the public and con
tinuation schools there and Exeter
high school, He was one of the first
to arrive in France on the day of the
invasion. (His parents are ardent war
workers. Dr, ICampbell is president
I of the War Service 'Committee and
holds many important positions
connection with the war, Mrs, Camp
hell is secretary-treasurer of the
Five Hundred Club, who since the
outbreak of the war has sent month
ly parcels of cigarettes to the local
boys overseas, The telegram received
stated that the nature of the wounds
were not known. The many friends
of Dr, and Mrs, Campbell hope that
they will soon receive good news,

Chiselliurst S.S.' Picnic
The annual Sunday School picnic
of Chiselhurst United Church was
held at Turnbull’s Grove on Thurs
day. The sports were held between
showers and owing to the heavy
rainfall the crowd had to go to
Grand Bend Pavillion ‘for supper
after which a game of softball was
enjoyed, a very enjoyable time is
reported in spite of the wet day
