A very successful father’s
service was held in the church on
Sunday morning. The church was
beautifully decorated with flowers
and special music was provided by
a men’s choir. Mr. Arnold Kilmer,
of Clandeboye, assisted the-choir at
the morning service. A baptismal
service was conducted by the pas
tor, Rev. Merriam, The children bap
tized were Donald Carlton, son of
Mr. and Mrs. Harold Lightfoot;;
Joyce Marie, daughter of Mr. and
Mrs. Geo. McFalls; and Evelyn
daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Amos
Wright. A splendid Father’s Day
message was delivered by the pas
tor.
Mr. and Mrs. S. Henry, of Harris
ton, were visitors on Friday of last
week with the latter’s parents, Mr
and Mrs. A. Hicks. Mrs. Henry ac
companied her mother to London
and remained at the hospital with
her for several days,
A very pleasant afternoon was
spent at the church on Tuesday of
last week when the W.M.S. enter
tained ■ the Baby Band with their
mothers at their regular monthly
meeting. The programme was in
charge of Mrs. Norman Michell and
Mrs, Albert Mitchell, ’'efr shments
were served, at the close of the
meeting by Mrs. Geo. McFalls and
Mrs. W. Isaac, assisted by Mrs. A.
McFalls and Mrs. F, Bowden.
A good crowd attended the school
picnic on the School grounds on
Friday evening and all reported a
real good time.
