The June meeting of the James
St. W.A. was held on June 1st with
the president Mrs. Steiner presiding.
The devotional period was taken by
Mrs. M. C. Fletcher. Business was
•discussed and meetings are with
drawn for summer months. We were
then favored with a reading by Miss
Florence Down, which was greatly
enjoyed by all. The meeting closed
by the singing of a hymn.

James St. Evening Auxiliary
The June meeting of the James
Street Evening Auxiliary was held
as a suipper meeting in the church
parlours. Mrs. Kenneth Hockey’s
group was in charge of the supper
and program. The president Conduc
ted a sing song during the supper
hour. The Daily prayer was repeat
ed in unison followed by the re
ports of the various secretaries. A
guest speaker, Mrs. G. W. Layton
gave a very inspiring talk on “Work”
Mis Helen Penhale sang a suitable
solo and -presented Mrs. Layton with
a card of congratulations, the oc
casion being their 15 th wedding an
niversary.

is in receipt of a parcel sent to her
by L.Cpl. McAllister which was
posted March 24 in Italy and reach
ed here May 27. The box was in
perfect condition * and contained
three kinds of Italian nuts, a bot

Lions Club Elects Officers
The Exeter Lions Club met for
their summer meeting in the Trivitt
Parish Hall on Friday evening last.
It was the last meeting of its kind
before the summer vacation. ‘The
next meeting will jbe ladies’ night
to be held at Oakwood Inn, Grand
Bend on June 15th, Officers were
elected for the coming year. A re
sume for the year was given by the

members 39, a gain of 2; members
