Car Damaged in Collision
Considerable damage was caused
to a car owned by Joseph Bryan.
R.R. 1. Granton, Wednesday after-

Prospect Hill with a car driven by
Jack Urquhart and owned by Wil
liam Urquhart. R. R. 1, St. Marys.
Mr. Urquhart was coming up the
hill on the narrow 10 th concession
road in Blanshard township when
he met the Bryan car climbing up
the other side. The road was not
wide enough for them to pass, and
Mr. Bryan pulled off to the grass
■on the right side. The Urquhart
car went into the left side of the
Bryan car, which was badly buck
led. The accident occurred about
2.15 p.m. No person was injured.

Torpedoed Sailor Acknowledges
’Receipt of the Reader’s Digest
The following letter has been re
ceived by Glenn Schroeder, a pupil
at the Exeter High School, who
enclosed his name and address in
a copy of the Reader’s Digest sent
to the Navy League.
Dear ’Glen:
I don’t know how long it is since
you put your note in “Reader’s
Digest.” It has been sent to me from
the, or should I say, our “Merchant
Navy Club.” You can guess now I
have been in the merchant sexwice,
but unfortunately was torpedoed in
late 1941. I am still in hospital,
but improving day by day; I think
another five or six months may see
me on my feet to see what this
town looks like, as
