A delicious supper was enjoyed. A ball game was play­ ed in the .afternoon with Harold Bell and Clayton Watson as captains, the former's side being the winners/ After supper a business meeting was held and it was decided to hold the picnic at the hon^e of Mr, Norman Jaques next year. Lions Hold Banquet at Hensall The Clinton Lions Club met on Tuesday evening at the Commercial Hotel, Hensall at 6.3 0 p.m. The proprietor, Mr. Stanley Tudor, is a member -of the Clinton Lions. The banquet was provicied by the los­ ers in the sale of tickets foi’ the recently held street frolic. Past president K. G. Waters, opened the meeting. Treasurer F. Pennbaker, gave a . report of the proceeds of the frolic, showing a net profit of $1,672. Lions first president, Frank Finglahd K.C., gave a resume of the progress and achievements of the club since its formation and Lion vice-president, E. J. Jacob, reported the condition of the Victory Garden plot, now ready for hoeing. The membership was divided into foul* groups for ticket selling, headed by captains W. Wells, Dr. George Elliott, >C. W. Draper and R. E. Holmes. The last two were lowest in number of tickets sold and- their groups wore responsible for the banquet. In the ticket draw by Beeve Shaddock, Dr. George - Elliott was the winner.
