A very enjoyable time was
at the home of Mr. Everett
Saturday night, when friends and
neighbors gathered for a birthday
party for Miss Doris Cutting, of Lon
don, who celebrated her 21st birth
day. She received many lovely gifts.
At midnight, lunch was served. Doris

ning in the church parlors bn Mon
day evening at 8 o’clock. The de
votional period opened with a hymn,
after which Vera Decker ied in pray
er. The roll call and minutes of
the last meeting wer.e read and
adopted. Rev, Irwin gave a dis
cussion on several passages from the
Bible read by Iva Fisher, Mary
Johns ahd Marjorie Richard. A
hymn was sung, followed by a sing
song and several contests. Lunch
was served and the social evening
closed With the Mizpah benediction.

adian Provost Corps, and his bride,
of Sarnia, visited with the former’s
parents, Mr. and Mrs. Cecil Rowe,
over the week-end.

The W.M.S. of Maili Street Church
met at the home of Mrs. T. Mawhin-
ney, the president presiding. After
the opening, hymn and Sihging the
National Anthem, the assistant sec
retary, Mrs. Hind read the minutes
of the last meeting ahd called the
roll to which ten members respond
ed. There were fifteen calls made on
sick and shut-ins. It was arranged to
pack the clothing the end of May;
Mrs. Penrose had charge of the wor
ship service in place of Mrs. Howard
who wag ill. Mrs, Woods gave a very

read ahd the meeting closed with the

The May meeting of the Pentecos
tal W.M.S. was held Thursday, May
13, with a good attendance. Miss
Peart took charge of the meeting
in the absence of the president, Mrs.
Steele. The meeting opened by sing
ing, “Jesus Paid It All” and “I Will
Praise Him,” after which Mrs. Wm.
Cooper led in prayer. Roll call was
answered by a Scripture shower. The
minutes of the last meeting were
read by the secretary after Which of
fering was taken. A duet was then
sung entitled, “Trust and Obey” by
Mrs, E. Ottdmore and Mrs. E, Miller,
Airs. Miller accompanied with the
piano accordian, A discussion on a
quilting took place, deciding to quilt
in the near future. Miss Delia Peart
gave a paper entitled, “Going For
ward”, taking her theme from Ex,
14-15, A short time was spent in
prayer after'which the meeting clos
ed with a hymn and Mrs. Allan Mil- ’
