Caven W. M. S. The regular meeting of Caven *W. M. S. was held at the home of Mrs. W. Hatter, May 16th with a good attendance, Mrs. .F. W. Glad­ man presiding,. Mrs. Hatter led in the devotional period reading a psalm and offering prayer. After the roll call and business discussion Miss Jeckell gave a short account of the Huron presbyterial execu­ tive meeting. Mrs. Sillery presented the topic “The Call .for New Mis- sonaries.” Mrs. Cann assisted by reading selections of Mrs. Sillery’s choosing from the Glad Tidings. Mrs. Pollen gave interesting cur­ rent events. The members in at­ tendance at the meeting pledged themselves to daily prayer for the Welfare of the nation. The meeting closed With a social half hour. The June meeting to be held at church and to be in charge of Coderich Auxiliary, the the Janies Street W. A., Group 1 Group one of James Street W. A. met at the home of Mrs. Fred May on Tuesday afternoon. A number of guests were present. The business was conducted by the leader, Mrs. C. W. Kestle. It was decided to have a picnic, Mrs. Asa Penhale offering her home for June 18tli at 2.30 p.m. Mrs. Asa Penhale gave a patriotic reading and Mrs. Sturgis sang a pa­ triotic1 solo, both being much en­ joyed. The meeting was opened as usual with devotional exercises and Singing “I’m So Glad That Our Father in Heaven." After the busi­ ness period a sketch of the life of Herbie Bellamy was given by Mrs} Chas. Johns. The children were very much interested, in the story and it was a good missionary ex­ ample for the Mission Band. Then we sang “Jesus Bids Us ShlnA” The meeting closed with singing “t Think When I Read That Sweet Story of Old” and prayer. The next meeting will be the last before the holidays.
