Mr. and Mrs. Douglas Triebner and family have moved to town and are making their home with Mrs. Fanny Triebner. Mr. and Mrs. T. Moffatt and three children, of Listow’el, visited on Thursday last with Mrs. Moffatt's parents, Mr. and Mrs. W. G. Medd. The many friends of Miss Mary Sanders will be sorry to learn of her serious illness at her home on Main street. She is under the care of Mrs. Strange. Mrs. Hugh O’Connor and son, John and daughter Miss Shirley and Miss Helen Wallis, of Detroit, are visiting with Mr. and Mrs. Richard Davis. Mr, W. G. Medd was in Toronto Thursday of last week representing the London Conference on the Transfer Committee of the United Church in Canada. Mr. David Mawhinney is seriously ill and was taken to St. Joseph’s Hospital, London, Tuesday for treat­ ment. His many friends will hope for his speedy recovery. Mrs. Catherine Hedden, who has been residing in Lucan for some time, has returned to Exetei’ and will make„her home with Mrs. Jas. Brintnell on Huron street. Preszcator, of Stephen, caught fire when the engine backfired and a blaze started around the engine. The accident happened a short distance south of town.- . Chas. Beer has a live mud puppy which he caught in a dip net while fishing for smelt at Grand Bend about three weeks ago. It is about a foot long with four legs and a long tail. The head is fairly large and the gills appear to be fur-trimmed.
