with a good attendance. A splendid
program was put on by the scholars
assisted by local talent. Mr. Mil
ton Russell acted as chairman. San
ta appeared and distributed candy
and nuts to the children from a
well-laden'tree. The teacher is Miss
Beatrice Campbell. Miss Campbell’s
parents from Goderich accompanied
by some friends were on theii’ way
to attend the concert when they met
with an auto accident near Holmes
ville and Mrs. Campbell suffered a
fractured collar-bone.
The South Huron Plowmen’s As
sociation will hold their annual
meeting in the Town Hall, Exeter,
on Saturday, December 23rd at 3
p.m. sharp. A good attendance is

About one hundred and thirty
people charivaried Mr. and Mrs. Wm.
Westlake, on Thursday evening, De
cember 14th, at the home of Mr.
Wallace Makins. The evening was
spent in games and dancing. Miss
Leona Westlake tap / danced and
Messrs. Will Hyde and Bob Jeffery
supplied the music. Jimmie and
Hughie Westlake gave two numbers
on the Hawaiian guitar, “The Old
Apple Tree in the Orchard” and
“She’ll be 'Coming Round the Moun
tain”. During the evening Mr. and
Mrs. Westlake were presented with
two occasional chairs and an end
table. The presentations were made
by Messrs. Arnold Westlake, Will
Homey, Orville Cann and J. Fergus
on. Miss Irma Ferguson read the
address. Mr. Westlake made a very
fitting reply. Lunch was served,
