Mr. Harry West of London and Mr. Sydney West of Fergus, visited with their mother over the week-end Dr. and Mrs. George Hind and daughter, of Walkerton, visited on Sunday with Mr. and Mrs. J. R. Mr. and Mrs. Frank Northcott, of Alvinston, attended the funeral of the late Mrs. Joseph Northcott on Tuesday. The first of the new maple syrup appeared on the market last week. Miss Hazel Elliot, of the Kitchen­ er-Waterloo Hospital, spent the week-end with her parents Mr. and Mrs. Sandy Elliot. Mrs. Trueman H. Elliott has been ill in Victoria Hospital, London, for several days suffering from mastoid trouble. She is slowly improving. Mr, John Rowe has moved from Andrew street to the house he re­ cently purchased from the estate of the late William Brock On Sanders street. Mr. Gerald Skin­ ner played a trombone solo. The attendance was very good taking in­ to consideration the wet weather and prevalent flu. ' JWXETER Mr. Harry Miller, Miss Irene Mit­ chell and Miss Utah Clarke spent Sunday with the latter’s parents Mr. and Mrs. H. C. Clarke. The London Free Press on Tues­ day contains a picture of Rev. D. Mc- Tavish turning the first sod for an addition that is being erected at the rear of Calvary United Church, Lon­ don. The addition will contain Sunday School rooms, auditorium and business office for the church, and will cost $30,000. Murray Mission Band A very enjoyable time was spent at the entertainment put on by the Murray Mission Band of Main St. Church last Friday evening. All the numbers were given by the members with the exception of a solo by Mar­ guerite Hogarth and a piano duet by Marguerite and June Bierling which were very ably given and much en­ joyed by all. This duet was given over the radio. Miss Jean Murray, of HCnshll, gave a splendid Mission­ ary address which held the boys and girls and older people from start to finish. Home-'made candy was serv­ ed at the close of the meeting.
