It has been a week of Christmas
celebrations at the Branch. The
Cadet Corp 2967 celebrated with
their families with a Christmas
dinner for all. The parent Support
Committee and Officers of the Corp
prepared and served the meal to the
near 60 attending. It was served in
true military style with white
tablecloth and full-uniformed
Cadets. The weather was poor and
not all were able to attend the special
evening. Merry Christmas from the
Cadet Corp!
The Thursday night dart league
had 12 darters taking aim at the
boards. Winners were: first, Gord
Jacklin and Sandra Josling;
second, Roger McHardy and
Marlene Rutledge; high shots, Deb
Cann, 121 and Wayne Smith, 105;
third skunk, Greta Zehr and Barry

Walking for Christ
The Brussels Community Bible Chapel, despite frightful winter weather, hosted a Christ Walk
on Sunday night that took folks through the Christmas story on a real time walk through the
Village of Brussels. The walk culminated with this indoor manger scene, which of course,
included the birth of Baby Jesus. (Vicky Bremner photo)
The December meeting of the
Majestic Women’s Institute was held
in the Walton Inn. A delicious turkey
dinner with all the trimmings was
enjoyed by all.
Kathy Bridge distributed the
December newsletter. President
Ruth Bauer presided over the
business part of the meeting. A
Christmas greeting was read by
Aleda and Annie Shantz. Marie
McCutcheon gave the treasurer’s
report. Motions were made to give a
donation to the Huron County
Christmas Bureau and to the
Brussels Library Restoration Fund.
Shut-in boxes were scheduled to be
packed and delivered on Wednesday,
Dec. 18 at 9:30 a.m. at the home of
Edna McLellan.
A letter was signed by the
members, supporting a resolution
drafted by the Howick Women’s
Institute regarding the restructuring
of the Federated Women’s Institutes
of Ontario Executive. A copy will be
sent to Margaret Christenson, Sault
Ste. Marie, chair of the restructuring
committee.
A thank you was extended to Janet
