Symposium is set for Saturday, Nov.
23 at the Blyth Memorial Hall. The
focus for this year’s event will be the
new Municipal Cultural Plan being
developed by the County of Huron.
Those attending the symposium will
have a chance to review the first
draft of the new cultural plan and
have an opportunity to assist in the
plan’s development by providing
feedback and input on the
recommended strategic directions
contained in the cultural plan.
The featured speaker this year is
artist and illustrator Randy Jones.
Jones was born in Exeter and has
had a remarkable career as an
illustrator in New York City working
mainly for the New York Times and
other clients including the Wall
Street Journal, Playboy, United
Features Syndicate, Cambridge
University Press, New York Newsday
and many major worldwide
publications.
The cultural symposium will also
provide updates on Huron Arts &
Heritage Network’s activities over
the past year and its upcoming
projects.
Attendees will get a first peek at
the new cultural tourism brochure
for Huron County, plus plenty of
opportunity to meet, mingle,
commiserate and inspire with others
from the arts, culture and heritage
communities of Huron County.
The Cultural Symposium is
Saturday, Nov. 23 at the Blyth
Memorial Hall, with a 9:30 a.m.
registration and wraps up around 2
p.m. There is a $10 fee to cover the
cost of the provided lunch.
