parlour on Oct. 15 with seven
members present. The meeting was
taken from the October Glad
Tidings. The leaders were Lorna
Armstrong and Alice Marks.
Leona and Alice took turns
reading the leader parts of the
responsive readings. The call to
worship “O Give Thanks to the Lord,
for the Lord is Good” was read
responsively. The hymn, “WePlough the Fields and Scatter” wassung and Psalm 136, verses 3-9 were
read. “In a World of Beauty” was
read responsively, followed by
prayer. The hymn “For the Beauty of
the Earth” was sung and Psalm 145,
verses 1-4 were read. “In a World of
Community” was read responsively
and Psalm 8, verses 1-4 was read
followed by the hymn, “The Church
is Wherever God’s People”. Psalm
118, verses 21-29 was read and “In a
World of Love, Joy, Peace andHope” was read responsively,followed by prayer. Leona
Armstrong read “Eight Things you
have to be grateful for.” The hymn,
“All People that on Earth do Dwell”
was sung and the meeting was
closed with the Mizpah Benediction.
Leona Armstrong and Alice Marks
presided over the business part of the
meeting. Dona Knight read the
minutes of the September meeting.
Moved by Alice Marks, seconded by
Mary Douma that the minutes beadopted as read. The correspondenceincluded the 2012 annual WMS
report, 2013 Stories of Missions,
information on the National
Presbyterian Women’s gathering to
be held May 16-19 in Toronto and
information on the WMS special
project, “We Can Together”.
Leona gave the treasurer’s report
and the roll call was answered with
everyone telling how they celebrated
Thanksgiving. Anniversary Sunday
is Oct. 27 with lunch after churchand a fall barbecue will be held onSunday, Nov. 24 at the arena. Mary
Douma will be in charge of
donations for the November
meeting.
Alice Marks moved to adjourn the
meeting. Lunch was served by Alice
Marks and Leona Armstrong.
