the end of September. David and M

Although we are sorry to bid them
farewell, we wish them all the best in
their new home.
The Happy Gang Seniors will hold

The Londesborough United
congregation worshipped with Knox
United in Auburn on Oct. 20. Knox
United was holding its anniversary
service.
This coming Sunday, Oct. 27,
Londesborough United will hold its
anniversary service. Rev. Gary Clark
will conduct that service. PeterPostill and his daughter, MyraParsons, will share their musicaltalent that morning. The senior choir
will practice prior to the service for
their part in the music of the
celebration.
Just an advance notice for you to
keep in mind. The outreach
committee of Londesborough
United will host an Alzheimer
Coffee Break following the morning

you to support this worthwhile cause
by sharing the time.
Sunday afternoon turned bright
and sunny, a reflection of the warm
wishes offered inside the community
hall as people helped Ken Hunking
mark his 70th birthday. These events
bring so many people together to
socialize and share memories as well
as extend best wishes.
What great weather our region
experienced over the Thanksgiving
weekend. We celebrated on Saturday
of that weekend in order to
accommodate as many varied
schedules and travel as possible. We
lucked out as we all spent a great
deal of time out of doors in various
activities. Along with our own
family, we had many extended
family members as we have decided
it is easier to get everyone together
then rather than at Christmas when
travel can be tricky. We had a blast
together and I trust that however you
spent your Thanksgiving it, too, was
heartwarming.
The pilgrims showed foresight
when they chose the time of harvest
to give thanks. They were grateful
for the harvest knowing they could
survive the winter and look forward
to another year.
Although the fall seems to be a
time of dying, the new and different
colours of the fall are like the
promise of the rainbow, life will be
renewed in time. I found a quote by
Samuel Taylor Coleridge that should
sustain us all until spring: “Why is it
that so many of us persist in thinking
that autumn is a sad season? Nature
has merely fallen asleep and her
dreams must be beautiful if we are to
judge by her countenance.”
As days, seasons and work wind
down all of us need to be refreshed
by rest and sleep. So, also must
nature.
In the remembering to give thanks
vein, the poppies will soon be
available for wearing again and
notices given of Remembrance Day
Services. I ask that you take time
again this year to appreciate the
freedom we in Canada enjoy. And
wear a poppy to show the world.

Huron County OPP officers are seeking information about a suspect that dropped
off a stolen Subaru Legacy on Christina Court in Goderich. On September 27th, just
a few minutes after 6:00 p.m. a resident from Christina Court observed the driver of
