We celebrated on Saturday of that weekend in order to accommodate as many varied schedules and travel as possible. We lucked out as we all spent a great deal of time out of doors in various activities. I found a quote by Samuel Taylor Coleridge that should sustain us all until spring: “Why is it that so many of us persist in thinking that autumn is a sad season? Nature has merely fallen asleep and her dreams must be beautiful if we are to judge by her countenance.” As days, seasons and work wind down all of us need to be refreshed by rest and sleep. So, also must nature. In the remembering to give thanks vein, the poppies will soon be available for wearing again and notices given of Remembrance Day Services. I ask that you take time again this year to appreciate the freedom we in Canada enjoy. And wear a poppy to show the world.
