JOB POSTING
CASHIER/GENERAL CLERK
FULL-TIME – STRATFORD
POSITION DESCRIPTION:
This position reports to the Billing & Collection Manager or designate
and is responsible for the following:
• Processing and accurately applying payments received in: the
night deposit, mail, electronic files received from multiple banks,
and customers at the counter.
• Daily close cash receipts, run reports, balance intake from all
sources, prepare bank deposit and secure the vault.
You are responsible for co-ordinating with our accounting
department to process direct payments received through Electronic
Funds Transfer.
In adherence to Festival Hydro Policies and Procedures, you will
assist with additional clerical duties related to customer accounts
and correspondence.
QUALIFICATIONS:
• Secondary School Graduation Diploma
• Minimum of 3 years’ experience processing payments in an
office environment
• Completion of Post-Secondary education in accounting would
be considered an asset
• Possess problem solving capabilities, the ability to pay close
attention to details and a high degree of accuracy
• Strong computer skills including Microsoft Word, and
Microsoft Excel
• Previous experience in a clerical support role would be an asset
• Experience working within an electrical utility environment would
be considered an asset
The successful incumbent must be able to work under pressure and
complete tasks assigned within the scheduled time. You must work
well independently and show initiative in your daily responsibilities
and deal with team members in a courteous, knowledgeable and
friendly manner.
