Good evening ladies and
gentlemen. I’m Justin and I’m
Hailey and we are proud to be your
2013 valedictorians. Thank you all
for coming, even though you may
not have had much of a choice. Well
graduates, this is the night we have
been waiting for. We have
successfully made it through our K-
8 years. We have gone from learning
how to sit criss-cross applesauce to
sitting at a desk quietly, and now
tonight saying farewell to one
another as a new chapter in each of
our lives begins. But we couldn’t
have done it all without the ongoing
support and leadership that we have
been given both from our parents
and all our hardworking teachers we
have had through the years. Without
them we would not be the young
adults we are today.
The memories are ongoing but the
friendships we have developed will
last forever. We will never forget
working together as a class at Above
the Falls. The challenges we had to
face there, the rock walls, cargo nets
and great effort and participation.
This all really helped with team
building skills and working together.
And then there was Camp Celtic,
which we think was fun for both
students and teachers. We met new
people and pushed our limits by
getting out of our comfort zone. That
field trip will definitely never be
forgotten. Especially because of the
hot bus ride. Does anyone else here
remember having the bus driver
open the door as we are driving
down the highway at 11 kilometres
an hour just so we wouldn’t cook
like bacon in there?
But there was more than just
Camp Celtic and Above the Falls
that made our public school years a
great time. All of our track and field
days, our Camp Sylvan trip, Jump
and those normal fun days in our
class like when Mr. Hundey’s class
kicked our butts in baseball. Yes we
also had those stressful years in
Grade 3 and 6 preparing for those
