(Jim Brown photo) Brewers trump Wroxeter 11-2 The Walton Brewers bounced back in a big way in Huron County Fastball League play last week. After losing to the Goderich Grizzlies on June 10, the Brewers scored an 11-2 decision over the Wroxeter Royals last Tuesday. The offence started in the first inning as Barry Young smacked a grand slam home run to give the Brewers a 4-0 lead early. Walton added a single run in the second inning, put four more across the plate in the third inning and scored two more in fourth inning to mercy the Royals in five innings. Wroxeter scored their two runs in the top of the fifth inning. Scott McDonald went the distance on the mound for the Brewers, recording eight strike outs. Jeff Smith rapped out a pair of singles, with McDonald getting a double and receiving a pair of walks. Also getting two walks were Darryl Houston, Blaine Marks and Kevin Murray. Young had a single to go with his home run. Scott Cox rapped out a single. Veteran player Paul Dolmage said the team was able to bounce back in a big way after getting clobbered by the Grizzlies the week before. “Younger [Barry Young] got things going with his grand slam home run in the first inning,” he said. “It was a good night to get a hit.” He stated that Scott McDonald pitched well. The Brewers were scheduled to play the Sebringville Sting on Sunday evening and hosted the Wingham Hitmen on Tuesday. Walton travels to Zurich on Tuesday, July 2 for an 8:30 p.m. contest against the Rangers. join us at HuronSoccerS www.huronchapelkids.com check it out or register online: n Chapel EMC forr Campp www.huronchapelkids.com check it out or register online: join us at Huron Chapel EMC for...
