The Brussels branch of the Huron County Library recently transitioned into the library of the Brussels Business and Cultural Centre in the former Brussels Public School Building and Huron County Branch Services Librarian Jennifer Zoethout says the transition has been without any major issues. “It’s all been very seamless,” she said. The move will result in several months of the library offering all of its previous services from the new location while major renovations are completed on the Brussels Library, according to Zoethout. However, as with any construction project, pinning down an exact completion date could be difficult. “It all really depends on how well the renovations go,” she said. “The municipality believes the project will be done in a few months, but, as with any project, there could always be delays. It may be sooner or it may be later, so we’re just taking it week by week.” The new location offers everything the old location did including wireless access and the same hours and Zoethout said that even the amount of storage is similar. “The space is fairly comparable, but we did have to store some books at the administration office [outside of Clinton],” she said. “However, when the new branch opens there is going to be a lot more space.” Having the space was a boon according to County Librarian Meighan Wark. “We were lucky to have the location at the Brussels Business A variety of weather to keep everyone guessing. Clint Emmrich is at home recovering from surgery. Margery Huether is still a patient in London. Barry Engel is a patient in Seaforth Hospital. Les Glanville is a patient in Wingham Hospital and is expected home this week. Kay Hesselwood has had shoulder surgery and will soon be in Clinton. We are glad to see Rod Fritz is out and about and doing well. Bob Cunningham is a patient in Listowel Hospital and we hope he is home soon. A good crowd attended the buck and doe for Curtis Ryan and Lauren Snell. It was held in Seaforth on Saturday evening. The couple will be wed in July. The Walton Hall Board ladies were busy this week. They spent every night at the hall giving it a spring cleaning. Walls, windows, floors, cupboards and dishes have all been washed, ready for the spring rental season. A good job wascompleted by Judy Lee, Jo-AnnMcDonald, Barb Durrell and JudyEmmrich. The hall was rented on Sunday for a birthday celebration. Steve and Nicole Bernard hosted a small birthday party for their two children. Katharine turns two and Justin turns one shortly. There were 25 family and friends on hand to have a visit and a little fun. They enjoyed a barbecued supper to end the day. Chris Lee and grandson Caden Lee attended a Toronto Blue Jays game on Friday. They went in time to watch batting practice before the game and Caden had taken his glove, hoping to catch a fly ball. Chris was sitting back a few rows watching Caden and all of a sudden a ball came down and bounced right into Chris’s lap. Caden was excited to get the ball from Grandpa and have his picture taking with a ball at the Rogers Centre. Neil McDonald has arrived for his yearly spring visit. He has a home in Bayfield but will be seen around the farm and Walton many times over the course of the next couple of weeks.
