Township of North Huron Council & Committee Meeting Schedule February - April 2013 Regular Council Meetings 7:00 p.m. Location: North Huron Council Chambers Dates: Monday, February 4 Tuesday, February 19 Monday, March 4 Monday, March 18 Tuesday, April 2 Monday, April 15 North Huron Police Services Board Meetings Dates: 6:00 p.m. February 19 7:00 p.m. March 19 and April 16 Location: Police Station Board Room The Meeting Room, also known as the Old Blyth Library in the north end of Memorial Hall, will be rented out to Brian Machan by North Huron Township as a temporary location for a new business. Pat Newson, Director of Recreation and Facilities, requested that council not enforce the zoning on the property, which doesn’t allow business to operate there, from Feb. 1 to May 31 when Machan will be working out of the location. Machan’s business, described, for the purposes of Newson’s request, will be a financial planning and mortgage office dealing with income tax preparation, investment, insurance and mortgage services. Council also approved a motion that will see Newson look into rezoning the property as this is the second business that has inquired about the space, the first being Stitches with a Twist, which operated there for several months before moving into its new location on Queen Street. Meeting room rented to local business The test of amusements (J.R. Miller) “Lovers of pleasure--rather than lovers of God” 2 Timothy 3:4 Is the love of pleasure growing upon you, gaining the power and the ascendency over you? Is it dulling the keenness of your zest for spiritual pleasures? Is it making Bible-study, prayer, communion with Christ, meditation upon holy themes--less sweet enjoyments than before? Is it making your hunger for righteousness, for God--less intense? Is it interfering with the comfort and blessing you used to find in worship services, or in Christian work? If so, there is only one thing to do--hasten to return to God, cut off the pleasure which is imperiling the soul, and find in Christ the joy which the world cannot give, and which ever enhances the lift. We must test all our pleasures and amusements by this rule--Are they helping us to grow into Christ-likeness and spiritual beauty?
